The Medical Examining Board licenses, certifies and regulates physicians, occupationaltherapists, occupational therapy assistants, physician assistants, and respiratory care
practitioners. The Medical Examining Board is composed of members of the professions and
public members who are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. There are
four advisory councils under the Medical Examining board consisting of Podiatry, Occupational
Therapy, Physician Assistants, and Respiratory Care Practitioners.
The Department of Regulation and Licensing is an umbrella agency providing administrative
services to various professional boards. Within the department, the Bureau of Health
Professions provides administrative services to the Medical Examining Board. Questions about
