The Real Estate Appraisers Board and the Department of Regulation and Licensing regulate real estate appraisers. The Board is composed of 4 professional and 3 public members who are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.
The Department of Regulation and Licensing is an umbrella agency that provides administrative services to various professional boards and directly regulates certain professions in conjunction with a board or without a board. The Real Estate Appraisers Board is an advisory board to the Department in regard to administrative rulemaking, licensing, examinations, experience and education. It has full authority to open and close investigative cases and to take disciplinary action against real estate appraisers. Within the Department, the Bureau of Business and Design Professions provides administrative services to the Real Estate Appraisers Board.
