Can credentials be transferred from other States/Countries?
Complete the application as indicated above. Applicants who are credentialed in another state with which Wisconsin has a reciprocal licensing agreement or which has licensing requirements which are substantially equivalent to those in Wisconsin, will be required to have the licensing agency in that state submit verification to the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing. The verification must indicate date of birth, credential number, date of issuance, and a statement regarding disciplinary actions. The verification will be required in order to complete the application for licensure.
How long does it take to make a determination to provide credentials?
An original completed application for credential by law shall be reviewed within 60 business days after having been received, but the average time for review is 30 days. An application is considered completed when all materials necessary to make a determination on the application and all requested materials have been received.
