A professional boxing club is a business entity engaged in the conduct of professional boxing or sparring shows. A professional show means any boxing or sparring event the admission to which requires the purchase of a ticket or the payment of anything of value.
A club must be licensed in order to conduct shows. In addition, a boxing show permit must be obtained for each show that is to be held.
The requirements of ch. 444, Wis. Stats., do not apply to exhibitions conducted by the American Legion, the Young Men's Christian Association, United Spanish War Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars or the Disabled American Veterans of the World War, for which no admission fee is charged. Any contribution shall be considered an admission fee. No such boxing or sparring exhibitions shall be conducted as a part of any program where an admission fee is charged.
Professional boxing clubs must comply with Professional Boxing Safety Act, as found in 15 USC sec. 6301, etal.
