I hold a Professional Counselor-In Training License and I need to or have changed Supervisors.   Do I need to inform the Department?

Yes. If a change in supervisor occurs during your supervised practice period, you must complete and submit form 2456 (found here: link) to the Department of Regulation and Licensing indicating a change in supervisor. All rules stated on that form will again apply regarding supervisor approval. To check the status of any updates please consult your Online application status checklist which can be viewed at the Department's Website under “Application Status”. Please note! Completing your supervised practice hours under a supervisor that does not meet the qualifications of an approved practice supervisor (see MPSW 12.02 Qualifications of A Practice Supervisor) may result in the denial of your application for full licensure and further require you to complete additional supervised practice hours under a supervisor approved by the Professional Counselor Section.

How long does it take to make a determination to provide credentials?

An original completed application for a credential shall by law be reviewed within 60 business days after having been received, but the average time for review is 30 days. An application is considered completed when all materials necessary to make a determination on the application and all requested materials have been received.
