hygiene school accredited by the American Dental Association Commission
on Dental Accreditation.
Continuing Education Requirements:
2005 Wisconsin
Act 318 established continuing education requirements for dental hygienist
licensees:
Dental hygienists must
now certify at the time of license renewal that they have taught,
prepared, attended or otherwise completed, during the two year period
immediately preceding the renewal date, 12 credit hours of continuing
education relating to the clinical practice of dental hygiene. The
law is effective as of April 21, 2006 ; therefore, credits must be
satisfied and certification filed beginning with the 2007 license
renewal.
CPR
and AED requirement: Licensees can not obtain more
than 2 credit hours to satisfy the CPR and AED requirement.
Infection
control requirement: Not less than 2 of the credit hours
required must be satisfied by such training.
The law exempts
from this continuing education requirement those renewing on the first
renewal date after the initial grant date of the license.
