Electrology Establishment

    Administrative Code (Code Book)

An electrology establishment is a business entity engaged in electrology.

Electrology means, for compensation, removing hair from the human body by use of an electric needle. No person may practice electrology in an establishment unless the establishment is licensed.

All establishments where electrology is practiced must be licensed as an electrology establishment. Establishments must employ an electrologist to provide services. Establishments must also obtain a license before opening a new business, relocating an existing business, or changing the ownership of the business.

An electrology establishment is not authorized under a barbering and cosmetology establishment license, and each location must be licensed specifically as an electrology establishment.
