Professional Fund-Raiser - Credentialing

1). Complete and submit the appplication for registration.

2). Submit bond and solicitation notice.

Solicitation notice : An applicant shall submit a solicitation notice which shall include the following information:

1. A copy of the contract between the professional fund-raiser and the charitable organization the fund-raiser will be working for.
2. The projected period during which the soliciting will take place.
3. The location and telephone number from which the soliciting will be conducted.
4. The name and residence address of each person responsible for directing and supervising the conduct of services under the contract.
5. A statement of whether the professional fund-raiser will at any time have custody of contributions.
6. A full and fair description of the charitable purpose for which solicitations will be made.

Bond : An applicant shall file with the department a bond in which the professional fund-raiser is the principal obligor, in the sum of $20,000, with one or more responsible sureties whose liability in the aggregate as sureties at least equals that sum. If the professional fund-raiser does not at any time have custody of any contributions, the bond shall be in sum of $5,000.

Biennial renewal due by August 31 of even-numbered year

Common Denial Reason: Does not meet criteria above.

Convictions of crimes or pending charges may be grounds for denial of license if the circumstances of the conviction or charge are substantially related to professional practice.
