Can credentials be transferred from other States/Countries?
Complete an application for registration as indicated above. An applicant who holds a credential in another jurisdiction (state, territory or possession of the United States or another country), will be required to have that jurisdiction submit a certificate of licensure or a letter to the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing showing that the applicant holds an unexpired certificate of similar registration in that jurisdiction. The certificate or letter must indicate date of birth, credential number, date of issuance, and a statement regarding disciplinary actions. This information will be required in order to complete the application for registration.
How long does it take to make a determination to provide credentials?
By law an original completed application for a credential shall be reviewed and a determination made within 60 business days after having been received, but the average time for review is 30 days. An application is considered completed when all materials necessary to make a determination on the application and all requested materials have been received.
