controlled substances, a physician assistant may utilize the D.E.A.
number of the physician who is providing supervision or may obtain

can I find out if there is discipline or other orders affecting a
credential holder?

and type in their name in the Search window.
Can
credentials be transferred from other States/Countries?
Applicants who have ever been credentialed
in another state will be required to have each state board submit
letters of verification to the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board.
The letters must indicate date of birth, credential number, date
of issuance, and a statement regarding disciplinary actions. These
letters will be required in order to complete the application
for licensure.
All candidates must
be graduates of an approved school and have current certification
from the National Commission on
Certification of Physician Assistants . See criteria above.
How
long does it take to make a determination to provide credentials?
By law
an original completed application for a credential shall be reviewed
within 60 business days after having been received, but the average
time for review is 30 days. An application is considered completed
when all materials necessary to make a determination on the application
and all requested materials have been received by the board.
