1). Complete education from
an accredited institution.
An applicant must have graduated from a regionally
accredited institution with a doctoral degree in psychology.
2). Complete
and submit application, including all required documentation and fees.
(For
applicants who hold a license in another state which is signatory
to the agreement of reciprocity of the Association of State and
Provincial Psychology Boards, and who apply on or after the effective
date that the Board becomes signatory to the agreement.) To view

applicants who hold a license in another state and hold the certificate
of professional qualification in psychology issued by the Association
of State and Provincial Psychology Boards.)
(For
applicants who have been licensed for 20 years or more in another
licensing jurisdiction of the US or Canada that had requirements
for licensure substantially equivalent to the requirements for licensure
in this state at the time of original licensure, and who have never
been disciplined by the board of any state or province.)
3). Board
determines eligibility to sit for the EPPP.
Exam may be taken after completion of doctoral degree and prior to
the completion of supervised experience.
Examination for the Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP)
Note: if an applicant has already written the
EPPP at time of application,
he or she needs to request the Professional Examination Service
(PES) to forward an official copy of his/her score to the Psychology
Examining Board. An applicant who fails to achieve a passing grade
may be reexamined 3 times at no less than three-month intervals.
If the applicant fails to achieve a passing grade on the third
reexamination, the applicant may not be admitted to any further
examination until the applicant reapplies to the board and presents
evidence of further professional training or education.
4). Take
and pass the national exam.
5). Complete
supervised experience.
Applicant must have 3,000 hours of supervised
experience, of which a minimum of 1,500 hours follows completion
of all requirements for the doctoral degree. The person supervising
the applicant must have at least 3 years of post-licensure experience
and must have had training or experience in supervision of psychological
work. See Psy 2.09(3), Wis. Stats., for a more complete description
of supervised experience requirements.
6). Board
review of application.
Your application
file must be complete, i.e; all supporting documents must have been
submitted correctly and completely and the national exams passed,
30 days prior to the board meeting date in order
for the file to be reviewed by the board on that date.
If the
board approves your file, you would sit for the ethics exam and
appear for the oral interview on the meeting date subsequent to
the meeting date that your file was reviewed.
7). Take
the state ethics exam and appear before board for oral interview at
a subsequent meeting.
