Extended Time Length for the NCLEX-RN:

Beginning October 1, 2004 , the maximum time length for the administration of the NCLEX-RN examination will increase from five hours to six. The maximum number of items candidates may receive on the NCLEX-RN will continue to be 265 and there will be no changes to the NCLEX-RN ® Test Plan. Please note that the maximum administration time for the NCLEX-PN will continue to be five hours. There will be no increase in the candidate examination fee based on this addition of extra time.
